The Costa de Almeria still provides superb value for money, with its stunning beaches and a wonderfully relaxed lifestyle. Stretching from San Juan in the north to Roquetas de Mar in the south, the region is home to beautiful National parks and nature reserves including the Cabo de Gata National Park located just on the outskirts of Mojacar. There are also many ancient Moorish villages to explore, and none better than Mojacar Pueblo, the whitewashed sugar cube village located on the hill overlooking Mojacar Playa, whose Moorish descendants still live in the village, throwing fantastic fiestas throughout the year, the best being the Moors and Christians fiesta in the first week of May each year, and the San Augustin fiestas in August.
The Costa de Almeria enjoys over 320 days of sunshine each year, with temperatures peaking in July and August at 36 degrees most days and with an average year-round temperature of 22 degrees.
