Designed by Peter McEvoy and 6137 metres in length, Desert Springs is the only desert course in Europe. Since opening in 2001, Desert Springs has hosted many prestigious tournaments including the Spanish Amateur Open. The Desert Springs Indiana course is maintained in peak condition by an innovative water recycling system, along with the streams that run through the course, a residual water treatment plant and water from the nearby reservoir. There are over 1 million imported plants from as far as the USA. Overall there are 12 staff just taking care of the environment alone.

The different tees, the strategically situated bunkers and the carefully placed hazards make the Desert Springs course one of the most challenging golf courses in Spain. There are different grasses for the Fairways, Tees and Greens and all these can be grown on site. Even the practice area is lush with perfect grass.

The fairways are wide and each hole is different, making each round here an authentic pleasure. Dry riverbeds, streams, water channels, rocks and a wide variety of cactus plants add to the attraction on a course that is suitable for amateurs and professionals alike, especially when big competitions take place here. The contrast between the areas of play and the rough is especially spectacular.

The course is designed to USPGA standards and the stunning landscaping and manicured greens and fairways make for an enjoyable golfing experience. A second course is planned and construction is due to start soon. For non golfers, a day out at Desert Springs is one for all the family with 2 restaurants and additional sporting facilities. Designed by Jose Canales and 5717 metres in length, Valle De Este is a championship course to challenge golfers of all levels set in a beautiful arid landscape against a mountain backdrop, just minutes from the coast. Almost every hole has tee boxes that are generally elevated; the view of each hole is clear and spectacular. The fairways are wide and generous where the drive should land, and bunkers pretty vast and clearly located to defend large and differently contoured greens.

In the Valle del Este golf course from the first tee box to the incredible 18th green, you will play the most amazing variety of golf holes you could ever come across on one course. Water features on many of the holes especially the 3rd, 5th and 18th.

This course shall prove challenging to all golfers, yet can still be enjoyed by low or high handicap golfers. It is one of those courses that, the more you play it, the more you enjoy it and leaves you eager to take it on one more time! The 4 star hotel offers a bar restaurant and formal restaurant, and the newly opened commercial centre offers an excellent selection of bars, restaurants and other facilities. Running parallel with the beach at Mojacar, Marina de la Torre offers stunning coastal views combined with a wide challenging course in a convenient location. With 18 holes, 72 Par, Ramón Espinosa´s golf course design includes three lakes strategically situated to make your game more challenging. The Marina Golf Course has two distinct halves! The first 3 holes are on a plateau overlooking the sea with wonderful views. You are then treated to one of the most spectacular golf holes in Spain, the Par five 4th, and after a climb, you are left to play another 10 holes in a truly peaceful valley. Its then back to the beach view plateau for the remaining holes. An impressive 5 star hotel has just finished construction, designed around the old Moorish palace that was located on the edge of the course, and is due to open to business very soon. Buggies and trolleys can be hired all year round, subject to availability.

The Alborán Golf Course was built for the Almería Mediterranean Games in 2005 and opened by Sergio Garcia. With a budget of 12 million euros, building began in September 2003 and it took just over 14 months to complete this 18 hole Par 72 Championship course located in El Toyo some 40 minutes drive from Mojacar. Set against the natural backdrop of the Cabo de Gata , the course is next to the beach and relatively flat but providing a true test of golf as well as proving very enjoyable to play. The quality of the design is highlighted by the fact that it is suitable for professionals and amateurs alike. Buggies and trolleys can be hired all year round, subject to availability.

Opened in 1993, La Envia is a Par 70 course and 6263 metres in length running up and down a huge valley between the spectacular mountains of Vicar which offer protection from the winds. The undulating course presents a challenge to all visiting golfers with palm and mimosa trees, agarves and many indigenous shrubs set around the numerous bunkers and lakes that act as hazards and create a desert oasis just 15 minutes from the city of Almeria. Buggies are recommended.

The furthest course from Mojacar and approximately 1 hour drive south and approximately 5 kilometres west of Roquetas de Mar., Serena was opened in 1979 and designed by Angel Gallardo and Peter Alliss. The course is flat as it is located close to the beach, giving it the character of a true links course, with winds from both the east and west so accuracy with shots is necessary. It has wide fairways, 9 lakes and greens defended by bunkers which provide a fair test for all levels of the game. Considerable improvements have been made to this lovely course of the past years including complete refurbishment of the clubhouse and changing facilities.

Please take note that most courses now require players to produce a handicap certificate prior to playing so it is advisable to obtain one prior to travelling. In addition, all players are reminded that soft spikes are mandatory on all courses so please change spikes prior to travelling. On public and bank holidays weekend rates will apply and, upon request, we will re-confirm these details prior to booking. We also strongly advise that you pre-book your golf, and note that during busy times courses will request that you make up a four-ball.
